TGIF peeps

1. Friday Follow, Blog Hop Friday and New Friend Friday...

friday-follow

This week Friday Follow is hosted by Cindy from MageeBaby, Casey from If The Crown Fits, and Kate from Busted Plumbing.

Blog Hop Friday is hosted by My New Life As Mom, Chubby Cheeks Thinks, Take A Mom's Word For It, Bree Bee's, This Adventure Our Life and Belly Charms!

New Friend Fridays is hosted by The Girl Creative and Trendy Treehouse.

2.
Truthful Mommy at The TRUTH about Motherhood passed this on to me and several other amazing ladies. I am truly touched. Please take a minute to read this post and see the thought and heart behind the award.

3.This one is scary...

The assingment: Please write a narrative poem that focuses on the workings of a family, whether it be your own or one that you've created from scratch.

The result:
i can feel the tears starting, every morning the same
the moment your dimpled hand is out of reach
the moment your smell is no longer nestled around me

my time away stretches on
i am lesser somehow without you
i am dulled

you are not of my flesh, not of my blood
but you are of my heart
but you are of my dreams

little girl
how you have changed me
how you have changed my world

4. And last but not least...the birth of a gamer.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Visiting from NFF. Your poem made me CRY! Way to go. The only other time I cry is at the end of Edward Scissorhands.

Lovely poem. Babies are so awesome. And I have on video my little guy "playing" video games with his dad when he was about 6 months old. Cute.

Now that wasn't so scary was it?? Very sweet poem and you've captured the realness of a mother's love for her daugter.

Great poem! I wasn't sure how to approach the topic this week, so I didn't. This is a dynamic I can truly relate to. Very nice job! (stopping by from trdc).

"the moment your smell is no longer nestled around me"

I love that. I am so attuned to my kids smell - it seems weird, primal almost, but I KNOW them in this way. I know what they are supposed to smell like and when they don't and there is nothing better than going in late at night and breathing in their scent, their hair.

Lovely. So glad I found you on TRDC today!

I'm not into the FF thing, but I'm here because you came to me and we both did the scary Red Dress Club prompt today....

I loved yours. We considered adoption for a while when we weren't sure we would be able to conceive. We finally got pregnant with our twin girls through in-vitro. they are 4 1/2 now. this poem tugs at my heart and i feel like i can identify with it so closely....thank you for sharing. going to follow you now!

Did you make up that poem...all by yourself? Where were you during grade 12 English class when poetry writing was worth 30% of my grade?
That was terrific!

Your poem is absolutely beautiful! I could feel your heart, your soul, and most of all, your love.

I just loved this poem. I'm so glad I visited your blog today! I love how all of the poems are so different, yet we all responded to one prompt.

Stopping by from TRDC - your poem was simple, beautiful, spot-on. No matter how anxious you might be for a break, the absence of those chubby fingers, the smell? The absence is almost like a presence. Great job!

Oh that smell. If only they could bottle it. Excellent job on the words.

I missed this week because of vacation. Glad I did, because there's no way mine would rank with all you guys.

I talk, then you talk, and sometimes I talk back again. It's a conversation! And we can all pretend we're not internet shut-ins who never talk to anyone. Hooray!
