Trikes are the new walkers

A week or two ago we got Pie a tricycle. She's poked at it little bit, but after we mopped the kitchen floor, which involved moving the table out, she was ready to give it a go.

At first I needed a little help from Dada.
Then I sort of got the hang of it...left foot, right foot, left foot...
But I gotta say, going backwards is a whole lot easier.
Now stop distracting me with tthe camera. I really have to concentrate.
Yeah, yeah...pedaling. But seriously what are these dangly things.
How am I doing Mama?
Are you little loves rocking a trike this summer?

Awww Miss Pie is so cute. We bought Icie a trike last spring and she still doesn't quite get the whole pedal forward deal, we keep trying though.

Yeah, that whole pedal issue seems to be confusing Pie. She's got the scooting backwards down though :)
She is really concentrating! So cute.

Isla isn't quite coordinated enough for pedals, but hopefully soon! :)

Really concentrating. You can't see it in the pics, but her little tongue was poking out and everything!
A-dor-able! :) Plus, I love the pics of Pie with her daddy... just precious. BB has a retro rocket - no pedals, it's just a push with your feet thing. I have to watch him though b/c he likes to use it as a step ladder to reach stuff on the kitchen counter. Yes. Standing on something with wheels... nothing like making my heart stop.

Oh Pie is a big fan of that too! She has a little scooter bus that she loves to stand on. The first time I almost fell out of my chair, now I'm like...eh, she's a climber. Hahaha
PJ has a trike, but he can't quite reach the far away pedal yet. It's more like a big wheel, actually.

Big wheels! I still have very fond memories of my Big Wheels....and some not so fond ones involving my foot getting caught in the wheel setup. Good times :)
Awww! Seriously too cute! My husband and I were walking around WalMart the other day and every tricycle/bicycle he saw, he wanted to get for my son... the problem is my son is one! haha. He can't wait. I can't show your blog post b/c it'll make him want to get it more. :-P

Pie is 16 months and it is a little out of her ability, but we had read that between 12-18 months was the best time to introduce the trike. For now (and I'm betting awhile to come) she's mostly interested in the streamers :)
So cute. She will be Tour de Francing it before you kn ow it.
Shaye Baby loves her brothers trike, but for now the best she can do is sit on the back and push with her feet.
