Spring has sprung

We'll put aside the fact that this is what I saw when I got in the car today...it's spring, not (NOT) summer Mother Nature.
And focus instead on the fact that we kept hearing lots of peeps outside (and not the marshmallow kind) and figured it was the normal birdy activity. But it was pretty constant, so we finally took a look. And there on top a column on my front porch were these little guys.

I went out today to try and get some better pictures but they were already gone. Looks like they had snuggled enough at my house and had moved on to a bigger place. We took Pie out to see them while I was taking the pictures and her face was equal parts fascination and concern. But their little peeps cracked her up.

What springy things have you been noticing?

So fancy. Just don't look at the rest of the car :)
104 whoa. That is too high for May. Love the little birdies though.

Way too high. I was not happy! I think we only got 3 or 4 days of actual spring.
104?!?!?!?!?!? You've got to be kidding me. Birdies are cute when they're up high. Glad they didn't dive bomb you!

It was brutal! I was actaully afraid they would try and defend the nest, or try to fly in the open front door behind me. Thankfully I didn't have to spend my afternoon chasing baby birds through the house!
The pool openend over the weekend, but I guess that is more summer than spring.
Oh!! I have been enjoying the scent of spring wild flowers on my rides. Mainly because it masks the odor of spring road kill. :)
Sorry that wasn't as cute as birdies!

Not nearly as cute, but oh so true!
Where do you live? The desert? 104 is Spring?! I'm really jealous of you right now!

Things are turning nice and green here FINALLY..but the storms are wicked...So over it!

I'm outside of Atlanta. Summers here can be straight up ass kicking.
GA BOOBIES!!! Close to me, arent you jealous! ;) I adore both of you, lol.
I love when we get random nests around the house. We got a nest of barn swallows last year and while I liked them there, they made quite the mess!! I'm so glad Spring hasn't quite sprung around here (NM) yet, but I know it's coming. Heck...we were wearing sweatshirts at a BBQ this past Friday!

Yeah there's quite a mess from our fluffy friends! Now that they're gone I'll have to deal with that.
yeah, it was 90+ here the other week and i about thought i was gonna keel over. and we're in chicago so there's no excuses for such horrendous heat. BLECH! today it's finally at a glorious 60.

60s beautiful, 70s pretty good. 80s I can occassionally deal. 90s+ forget it!!
How precious!! Well things I have noticed.... Unbearably hot humid hair days, tomato plants soaking up water like its never coming back, lounging stray kitties, and also.... cupcakes. YES. Spring cupcakes, mud pies, dirty faces, dirty knees, ruined clothing, short shorts, tank tops, flip flops, sunglasses, sunblock, and the excruciating pain and excitement tattooed on myk ids faces waiting for the pool to open this weekend! :)

We got an 8 ft pool from Walmart and Pie has been rocking it hard core. When she's not in it, she's standing at the window staring longingly :)
awww!!! how sweet! yeah, we have a enighborhood pool,. but it doesnt open until this weekend, so we cannto wait!
The heat has been kind of insane. I remember last year we went straight from Winter to Summer and there was no Spring! The birds in my neighborhood are insane. Lat year they pecked hole in my siding but we patched it up. Then they started dive bombing the neighbor's dogs because they were pissed. This year they managed to dig a hole into my other neighbor's roof. They have a roof that overlaps with a lower part and they dug right in and every night you can hear them digging around in there. Birds are insane!

I can't hang with skipping seasons. A week of Spring then right into Summer is not okay with me!

Those are some aggressive birds! I'm glad ours are just pooping everywhere and not drilling into the house!!
